How the website cost calculator works
The calculator asks about the same things we look at when we scope a real build for our website design and development clients. Each answer adds or removes work, and the estimate reflects that work.
The result is a ballpark. A fixed price comes in a written proposal after a free audit, where we look at your current site, content and the systems the new one has to connect to.
What drives the estimate
Page count
Each unique page needs layout, content placement and testing on phones and desktops. Ten service pages built from one template cost less than ten pages with different layouts.
Custom design or template
A design made for your brand takes wireframes, mockups and revision rounds. Starting from a proven template moves faster and costs less.
E-commerce
Product catalogs, checkout, shipping rules, taxes and payment gateways add real work. Catalog size and variants matter most. See e-commerce development.
Connected apps
Linking forms to your CRM, booking software, email platform or accounting tool adds build and testing time for each connection.
Content writing
If we write your pages, the estimate includes research, drafts and edits. If you supply final copy, it doesn’t.
Platform
WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Next.js and Laravel each suit different needs and carry different build effort. Our Claude-coded websites shorten build time on most of them.
Questions about website cost
Is the calculator result a quote?
No. It’s a ballpark based on typical projects with the options you picked. Your fixed price comes in a written proposal after we audit your current site and needs.
Why is my estimate higher than a template site builder?
The estimate includes design, building, testing on real devices, basic SEO setup, speed work and launch support. A site builder subscription leaves all of that to you.
Does the estimate include hosting and maintenance?
No. Hosting, domains and ongoing website maintenance are separate and listed in your proposal if you want them.
Can I lower the cost?
Yes. Supplying your own copy, starting from a template, launching with fewer pages and adding connected apps later all bring the number down.
